2018 Music Scholarships Awarded
The Fort Walton Beach Community Chorus is pleased to announce the 2018 FWBCC Memorial Scholarship recipients. Congratulations to Emma Ladd and John Hencinski, both are seniors at Niceville High School. Emma and John performed at our Saturday night performance of “Americana” on May 19, 2018.

Emma is a graduating senior from Niceville High School. Her plans are to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of Florida. Her ultimate goal is to teach music at the elementary or high school level and pursue her Master’s degree. Besides her vocal talent she has been a member of the soccer team at NHS and National Honor Society (grades 10-12). With Niceville High School Chorus she has obtained the Annie T. Mitchell Honors Award, Magna Cum Laude, All County Chorus Member and All State Chorus Member. She has volunteered her time with Vacation Bible School, with Plew Elementary School, NEST Orientation Leader at NHS and Youth volunteer at Crosspoint UMC.

John is a graduating senior from Niceville High School. He plans to major in music at Rollins College in Winter Park, FL. His focus is on piano performance and conducting. After his undergraduate studies, his desire is to attend Yale or Julliard and get a doctorate in conducting. His ultimate goal is to be an orchestra conductor and a professor of music at the college level. He is active in the music program at Crosspoint UMC, assisting as a piano accompanist, singing and tech support for sound and lighting. His talent on the piano is phenomenal.
